New! 365! Check it out!

I recently started a a 365 photo blog on tumblr, where I'll be posting a photo every day for a year. I hope to create a new image to post every single day as a way to challenge myself and keep the creative juices flowing. Please follow me and show your support at emilyzilm.tumblr.com. I'm already 10 days in, going strong. If you'd like to lend ideas or offer yourself as a subject, let me know. I'm sure I'll be looking for more inspiration and subjects sooner or later!

Lost and Found

Just three of the ten pictures in the collection I made for the "Lost and Found" show at the Nave Gallery in Somerville, MA, opening tomorrow. I searched the crevices of some apartments around Boston to see what items I could find in couches, closets, etc. that had been forgotten about, left by visitors, or had no known places of origin. You have to go to the opening to see the rest! There is artwork from around 15 artists total, ranging from traditional painting to cell phone photography. I also hear some really cool dude named Mike Fortier who I certainly have never met made some pretty awesome painting/drawings based on Craigslist missed connections. Opening reception is Friday, 19 February 2010, 6-8 p.m. More details here.

My first video!

Chester French is Loudcrowd's featured artist this month, and they stopped by the office in Cambridge a few weeks ago to check out the game. My good friends over at Conduit asked me to come document it, so I decided to take my first shot at some video. So considering I've never done this before, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Go check it out here.

Dan O

I did this photo shoot for my friend Dan O about a month ago so he can get a huge painting of his head done to put in his living room. We spent a long time wandering around Cambridge looking for a cool spot, but the weather sucked so the best ones we took were at his apartment. These are some of my favorites.

check it out!

I finally got my gallery up. The whole website I'm making is almost totally done too, just needs a little more tweaking. Feedback welcome.
